Protection that goes the distance.

Still there at mile 80.

Past hour three, most anti-chafe products stop working. Not because the runner did anything wrong, because the formula wasn't built for that distance. Aura Ultra is a petrolatum and lanolin barrier system engineered for extended wear: desert heat, alpine cold, and the hours-long sweat exposure that wears through lighter formulas.

Past hour three, most anti-chafe products stop working. Not because the runner did anything wrong, because the formula wasn't built for that distance.

Aura Ultra is built around petrolatum and lanolin, the two most proven occlusive barrier ingredients in skin protection, at concentrations engineered for extended wear. It's built for the conditions that break lighter formulas: desert heat that liquefies oil-based balms, alpine cold that hardens butter-based ones, and the hours-long sweat exposure that wears through film-forming sticks.

Aura Ultra holds its structure across a wider temperature range than natural oil-and-butter balms, and resists sweat washoff better than wax-and-alcohol systems. It's not trying to feel weightless. It's trying to still be there at mile 80.

2 fl oz (59 mL). Made in USA. TSA carry-on friendly. Contains lanolin and tea tree oil. Patch test before first full use if you have sensitive skin. Not vegan (lanolin).

Apply to completely dry skin 30-45 minutes before race start to allow the barrier to fully set. Cover all high-friction zones thoroughly: feet (especially between toes), inner thighs, underarms, groin, sports bra line, and any pack or strap contact points. Reapply at crew-accessible aid stations on extended efforts.

Key Ingredients

The most occlusive, longest-proven skin barrier ingredient available. Built for extended exposure to moisture and friction.

The barrier ingredient distance runners have trusted for decades, layered in to reinforce the petrolatum base.

Keeps the balm stable from desert heat to alpine cold, without turning to liquid or seizing solid.

Cuts the heavy feel of a petrolatum-forward formula so it doesn't sit on skin like plain petroleum jelly.

A clean, refreshing finish alongside the barrier system. No added fragrance.

PERFORMANCE

Product Benefits

Ultra distance: 50K, 100K, 100 miles and beyond. Multi-day stage races. Extreme heat that liquefies oil-and-butter balms, and alpine cold that hardens them. Built for efforts where aid stations are far apart and reapplication isn't practical or guaranteed.

Temperature stable

The wax-and-petrolatum structure holds a workable texture from desert heat to alpine cold, where natural oil-and-butter balms liquefy or seize solid.

Sweat resistance

An occlusive petrolatum and lanolin barrier that resists washoff through hours of sustained sweat, long after film-forming sticks wear through.

Maximum barrier

It's not trying to feel weightless. A rich, occlusive balm, closer to an ointment than a dry-touch film, built to protect when the distance demands everything.

Questions

Frequently Asked

For the most extreme distances and conditions, petrolatum is the most occlusive, longest-proven barrier ingredient in skin protection. It's the right tool for 100-mile races and desert or alpine extremes, even though it's not a natural ingredient.

No. Vaseline is pure petrolatum. Aura Ultra combines petrolatum with lanolin, structuring waxes, and soy sterols to hold up across a wider temperature range and feel less heavy than plain petroleum jelly.

A formula built on an occlusive barrier ingredient that resists sweat washoff over many hours, not a product designed around a 2-3 hour road race. Aura Ultra is built specifically for that distance.

Plain petrolatum is a genuinely effective barrier, part of why Aura Ultra is built around it. On its own it can feel heavy and doesn't hold structure as well across temperature extremes. Aura Ultra adds lanolin, structuring waxes, and soy sterols to address both.

Yes. The wax-and-petrolatum structure is built to hold up in heat that softens oil-and-butter balms.

Yes. Petrolatum-based formulas stay workable in cold that hardens natural oil-and-butter balms, an advantage at altitude and in alpine conditions.

It's built to resist sweat and moisture better than film-forming or oil-based alternatives. No topical barrier is fully waterproof over many hours.

It's built for race-day and long-effort use, not daily training. The occlusive, heavier formula is more than most training runs need. Save it for when duration and conditions actually demand it, and use Aura Full for the everyday miles.

Two worth knowing about: lanolin (wool-derived, a small percentage of people are sensitive) and tea tree oil (roughly 1-3% of people can develop contact sensitivity with repeated use). We recommend a patch test before your first full use.

Petrolatum and paraffin are petroleum derivatives, so we don't make environmental claims for this formula. If a natural-inspired ingredient list matters more to you, that's what Aura Full is for.

Yes. At 2 fl oz (59 mL), it's under the TSA's 3.4 oz carry-on liquid limit.

Yes. The same friction and moisture conditions that affect ultra runners apply to rucking, hiking, and other endurance activity.

Distance and conditions. Aura Full is natural-inspired, built for marathon distance and daily training. Aura Ultra is petrolatum-based, built for ultra distance and extreme conditions.
